Wavemaker was recognised for its collaborative culture by taking home the award for Best Agency Partner at last night’s Media Week awards. The special award sponsored by Reach Solutions, recognises the agency that has worked most collaboratively with media owners to develop great partnerships.

The media owners who judged the category picked Wavemaker because of the quality of its briefs to suit client objectives and “ability to deliver value to clients above and beyond what they could have got had they gone direct to the media owner”.

The prestigious award recognises Wavemaker’s ambition to be the most open agency in the UK. In 2015, Wavemaker set up an internal Collaboration Board to ensure that their partners are always at the heart of their business. Since then, Wavemaker have delivered a series of initiatives (Who? What? Wow!, Wavemaker Hero, Lifting the Lid sessions to name but a few) to enable their partners to work as an extension of the Wavemaker team. Wavemaker constantly go back out to their Partners to ensure what they’re doing benefits them as well as their clients. Winning this award is testimony to their effort and that of their partners.

Emma Dibben, Head of Partner Engagement, Wavemaker UK. “We are all so delighted to win the inaugural Reach Best Agency Partner Award. The fact that the outcome was decided by our partners makes it even more of an honour. We have worked so hard over the past 3 years to make Collaboration with partners a key pillar of our agency strategy. If we could have designed an award to aspire to, this is exactly what it would have been. The Wavemaker commitment to collaboration continues.

Wavemaker also picked up a Gold and Silver award in the Research Insight category with a Gold Award for Public Health England’s Start4Life Breastfeeding friend – A bespoke voice assistant for connected home and mobile devices to support new mums struggling to breastfeed. The voice assistant has since become Amazon Echo’s default answer to any breastfeeding query.
