Tell us what you do at Wavemaker? (in language your parents would understand!)
Mom, do you know how you see commercials between your shows or on the radio? I come up with the strategy that decides where you see and hear them.
Why did you choose to work at Wavemaker?
I chose to work at Wavemaker because it gave me a great opportunity to combine my history in finance with my love of media when I joined the T. Rowe Price account. I've stayed because I've been encouraged at every level to remain inquisitive regarding what we do as a company and how to grow within it
What does being a Future Maker mean to you?
A Future Maker is an individual who thinks beyond the silo of their role and the short-term successes associated with it. Rather they are acutely aware of their role’s effect on those in separate disciplines and how all the various cogs within the media and marketing industry work in tandem toward a greater goal. This thought process allows for creative thinking driving long-term success.
I've been encouraged at every level to remain inquisitive regarding what we do as a company and how to grow within it.
Tell us about why you’re a Future Maker?
I began my professional journey consulting as a financial analyst within AIG. While the financial industry is lucrative, the support coworkers showed each other professionally and personally was often lacking. My transition to media was driven by a desire to grow within a field that sparked passion but also allowed for compassion and investment in those around me.
Who, or what, inspires you?
My inspirations are numerous. They span from my family’s ability to persevere in a Jim Crow south, gaining positions as educators and United Nations employees, to the ability of my current senior associate planners, Vicki Chen and Matt Cohn, to master their respective accounts.
What’s your plan B? What would you be doing if you weren’t at Wavemaker?
My girlfriend tells me I’m doing pretty well taking pictures of her for Instagram. I’ll likely apply to be her brand manager.
