Wavemaker secures ranking on Australia’s Best Places to Work List

Delen

Wavemaker Australia has been crowned as one of the country’s top employers, ranking 18th on Best Places to Work 2018 for companies with more than 100 employees.

The ranking marks the agency’s first appearance on the list as Wavemaker, following the merger last year of MEC and Maxus to form GroupM’s largest agency specialising in media, content and technology.

Both MEC and Maxus appeared on the list in previous years, with MEC ranking 13th on the 2017 list for companies with more than 100 employees – as the highest ranking agency – and Maxus ranking 15th among companies with fewer than 100 employees.

This is the 11th year The Best Places to Work has been published by the list’s creator, Great Place to Work Institute, a global workplace research and consulting firm. The list recognises organisations leading the way in workplace culture, with two-thirds of the scoring based on employee responses to an anonymous survey.

Peter Vogel, Chief Executive Officer of Wavemaker Australia & New Zealand, said: “Creating a thriving environment where all our people feel valued, supported and inspired is a huge focus for Wavemaker, and ultimately benefits our clients. We are delighted to be recognised as one of the country’s best places to work, so soon after our merger. As always, we will continue to make improvements to ensure we provide the best possible workplace for our people, and I look forward to achieving an even better Best Places ranking in the future.”

Wavemaker’s culture initiatives include annual PACED Days, all-agency culture days designed to inspire, motivate and bond all Wavemakers, attended by employees from all five Australian offices as well as New Zealand; the Wavemaker Ignite 12-week training program for younger employees who are in the first few years of their management career; the three-year Momentum course for senior leaaders; the GroupM Path Sponsorship program; a strong focus on promoting work / life balance; and enhanced maternity and paternity leave benefits.

Wavemaker is part of GroupM, which is part of WPP AUNZ, Australasia’s leading marketing content and communications group.
