Wavemaker Australia has been awarded Silver in three categories in the APAC edition of the MMA Smarties Awards, the world’s only global mobile marketing awards program honouring innovation, creativity and success.
The three Silver awards were won in collaboration with Bonzai, for Wavemaker’s work on creating a first-in-market ad unit called NearBuy for an automotive retail client, in the categories of Lead Generation/ Direct Response/ Conversions; Innovation; and Location-Based Services or Targeting.
The winners were announced in Singapore on 9 November, selected from a total of 1,200 entries from the APAC region, across 24 categories.
Wavemaker’s NearBuy Ad Solution involved a mobile-first, first-in-market solution developed by creative technology platform Bonzai for Wavemaker to address a fundamental business problem the automotive retail client was experiencing. The ad unit delivered exceptional results, exceeding any benchmarks or KPIs the automotive retail client had in the past. The client enjoyed record conversion rates, record low CPAs for calls and had a record month for increased calls, bookings and directions from a single ad unit.
Keaton Hulme-Jones, Data & Tech Client Manager at Wavemaker Australia, said: “Mobile marketing is still relatively ‘young’ as a tool for marketers and we believe it’s important to be brave and innovative in our use of it as a channel. We’re proud to be recognised with Silver at the MMA Smarties and to be among so many inspiring campaigns from across the Asia-Pacific region.”
The MMA Smarties Awards is the only global awards program to specifically honour and recognise the best in mobile marketing. Judged equally on creativity, strategy, execution and results, the MMA Smarties aim to provide a benchmark for the industry.
Wavemaker is part of GroupM, which is part of WPP AUNZ, Australasia’s leading marketing content and communications group.
