Wavemaker launches Huawei’s largest UK campaign to date for Mate 20 Series launch

London, 17th October – Huawei launches its new and much-anticipated Mate 20 Series with a multi-million UK launch campaign – its largest to date – developed by Wavemaker with creative by Havas.

The launch was announced at a live streaming event yesterday across four platforms – the company’s web site, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Wavemaker’s brief was to drive a significant volume of viewers and post-launch, devise the most impactful way to launch the Mate 20 Series. The announcement yesterday was preceded by teaser activity created by Wavemaker for Twitter reminding them to access the live stream. Today sees a 24-hour takeover of the platform, with ‘promoted trend’ and ‘first view’ sponsored ads reaching 6 million in one day.

A free branded emoji was also negotiated offering people an option to share when tweeting about the brand to drive brand competition. Post the launch event, there will be advertising across national TV, digital, national press and OOH – involving large format, high impact iconic sites – to drive national reach.
