Share

Wavemaker announces the appointment of Ann Lim, former Chief Client Officer of Wavemaker China, to the role of Wavemaker Managing Director North East Asia, taking responsibility of both Japan and Korea offices.

Ann has been a longstanding member of Wavemaker’s leadership team, previously holding senior positions in Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai. Her move is another demonstration of Wavemaker’s commitment to creating career opportunities across the network for our talent, through recognition, promotion and mobility.

The opportunity to extend my experience and expertise across Asia Pacific markets to grow Wavemaker, and ultimately grow with Wavemaker, is extremely valuable to me. I relish this challenge and together with Ryoko and Hae, we will lead and inspire our people with a positively provocative spirit to move out of our own comfort zone and constantly push boundaries.”

As well as Ann’s appointment, we have strengthened our leadership teams in both markets, where Ryoko Maeta (left) and Hae Lee (right) are promoted to General Manager of Wavemaker Japan and Wavemaker Korea, respectively.

Key clients across Japan and Korea include Tiffany & Co., AXA, DHL, Hill’s and Jetstar. The significant growth trajectory and potential of the two markets has driven a renewed emphasis and investment in top talent, by bringing in proven talent from the network and recognizing leadership potential of star performers in market.

Ann will report jointly to Michael Beecroft, CEO GroupM North East Asia, and Gordon Domlija, CEO, Wavemaker Asia-Pacific. She will be based in Tokyo.

Michael Beecroft commented: “Ann brings a wealth of multi-market client and operational leadership experience, so I’m obviously super excited to welcome her to the team. Wavemaker in NE Asia is well positioned, resourced and is ready to embrace its significant growth potential.”

The most satisfying moments of work life are invariably when we can recognise and reward people from within our agency with new opportunities in which we know they will grow and thrive. By combining the best of our international network talent with exceptional in-market expertise, we create a unique culture of learning and growth.”
