Wavemaker's Paramount Bumblebee campaign wins Best Creative Execution in Outdoor Awards

Wavemaker’s eye-catching outdoor campaign for Paramount Pictures’ BumbleBee movie release has been crowned Best Creative Execution in the Outdoor Media Association’s Creative Collection competition, Quarter 4 2018.

The award recognised the creative used on B-Line buses in Sydney’s Northern Beaches and an innovative ‘Push to Play’ panel with JCDecaux. The executions were part of a wider campaign by Wavemaker for the film’s 20 December 2018 Australian release, including activations in Sydney and Melbourne featuring a VW Beetle transformed into a larger-than-life boombox. 


Set in the year 1987, BumbleBee is the sixth installment of the live-action Transformers film series and centres around the character of the same name.


Aaron Hampson-Smith, Director, Investment & Activation at Wavemaker Australia, said: “This was a fun campaign to work on with Paramount Pictures and we believe we delivered memorable and impactful work. Outdoor offers a variety of innovative ways to reach our audience and it’s a powerful medium in drumming up excitement for movie releases, particularly a family-friendly flick like BumbleBee.”


The OMA’s Creative Collection competition, held quarterly, recognises the best outdoor campaigns nationally.
